Import client notes
Bring existing documents into a client record, review their dates, and keep imported notes private until you share them.
Bring earlier session notes into Pineway so you can prepare for your next meeting with the client’s history in one place. Imports create private notes; you choose what to share afterwards.
Open Clients, select the person, open Notes, then select Import notes. The button appears once the client has signed in to Pineway or booked a session. When you’re adding someone new, you can bring in existing context during Add a client instead.
Choose documents to import
- Choose From Google drive and enter a folder or document link, or choose Upload file for documents on your device. Uploads support PDF, DOCX, and TXT files up to 100 MB each.
- For Drive, select Check for notes. Use a link you have permission to access; follow the connection prompt if Pineway needs access to your Drive.
- Review the documents found or uploaded. Select the ones that belong to this client and adjust their dates before importing so their history is accurate.
- Confirm the import, then check the client’s Notes tab for the imported documents. Open a note to check the content and date.
Google Drive imports are a one-time copy. Later changes to the original folder or documents do not sync into Pineway.
Review partial imports
If some documents fail, the import results identify them and explain the errors. Notes that imported successfully remain in the client record, and documents you already imported are skipped, so you can retry the failed files without creating duplicates.
Imported notes stay private until you deliberately share them. Open an imported note to continue writing, review its summary when available, or link it to a session. See Write client notes for sharing and editing.
